Black Tree Studio Pottery

Steve Skinner

Eye On Art Gallery will now be caring the exciting clay forms from potter, Steven Skinner. His studio in New Carlisle, Indiana is Black Tree Studio Pottery.

Artist Statement
I love making pottery. Working with colored stoneware and inlays of porcelain, I create one-of-a-kind, sculpted pottery by combining wheel-throwing techniques, hand-building, and spontaneous mark-making.

Steve Osborne

Steve will be the featured artist for the September Gallery Walk.
Artist Statement:
When I discovered that my true passion was sculpture, I decided to relearn the medium using fractal form as a basis for the work. For me, sculpture provides two elements which I find to be very fulfilling in the creative process. I really enjoy what I term "blue collar" art; having to get down and dirty in the making of a piece of art. I also believe that additive sculpture is one of the truest forms of Gestalt, (the whole is greater than the sum of the parts).

Tania Darashkevich

Lemon Reflections
Acrylic
14"x14"

Tania brings a fresh look to still life objects and her realistic approach. It is a painterly twist on photo realism, very fresh and alive. Her three works will be on display at Eye On Art during the September Gallery Walk.

Tania Darashkevich

Timid Lily
Acrylic
20"x20"

Statement by the Artist
My influences were Jan Vermeer and Jean-Baptiste-Simeon Chardin as I admired their attention to simple and modest subjects. My style is realistic, but with a contemporary touch. Light and shadows, the brightness if the floral and the softness of the texture are important elements in my paintings.

Roasting in the Sun
Acrylic
12"x28"

I am excited to add Tania Darashkevich to the gallery of artists here at Eye On Art Gallery. Tania was born in Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1998 and recently moved to Florida.  She obtained a degree in psychology from State University in Leningrad Russia, and was a psychologist for 10 years. Tania is strongly influenced by the old Masters and the works of French master Watteau. Tania's style remains classic and realistic, a reflection of her illustrative training.

Vic Vicini

1959 Caddy
20"x20"
Acrylic on Canvas

This is another beautiful painting by Vic Vicini, Michigan painter. Interesting response in the gallery with several men that identified the year and make of the car. Now, all I need is their credit card.

Jeanne Troxel is a Chicago artist that took up mosaic as a way to allow an abstract element into her imagery. Many of her stained glass mosaics images are born of a need to see beauty in every type of environment.
