Andrea Grimsley
Fire Light
30"x40"
Oil on Canvas
We have added a new artist to the mix at Eye On Art Gallery.
Abstract Expressionism and impressionism generally inform Andrea Grimsley’s technique. Her work employs bold strokes, sweeping movement and the delicate balance between positive and negative space. She works primarily in oils. The luminous quality of the medium and its fidelity to brush work make working in oil a satisfying choice for her painting style

Gilles Capton
Percheron
Oil on Flax Canvas
80cm x 80cm
31.5" x 31.5"
Superb oil on canvas by the artist Gilles Capton. Capton is a French artist whose atelier (studio) is based at Orleans. He is reknown for his painting of bulls and cows, but has painted other subjects including more recently a study of Percheron horses.
He is described by Eric Besnard as persistant, conformist and a New Artist of the Renaissance. He is influenced by the old masters for their ideals and beauty. He also looks at the history of rural life and how we as humans have been influenced by these animals over the years.
Gilles Capton has exhibited in exhibitions and galleries across France.

I have 6 works on display by Barry Bernstein. Barry has created elegant raku works with rich deep color ranges. An added bonus is the smell of the final wood firing that remains inside this pot.

Yves Letterme
Athur Shcopenhauer
22.25"x11"
Another creative work on paper from Yves Letterme. I selected this because of the unusual format and the calligraphy. I didn't know anything about Arthur Schopenhauer and looked him up to find out he was a German philosopher and a pretty brainy guy. I also enjoyed one of his quotes. " The first forty years of life give us the text; the next thirty supply the commentary to it." We are living loner today, so I plan to extend that commentary a few more years.

Yves Letterme
If You Want to Get Lucky
Image:13.25x13.12
This is one of six new works that just arrived, on paper from Yves Letterme, artist from Belgium. The works will be framed with a 4" matt and black frame. The calligraphy on the painting reads: If You Want to Get Lucky it Pays to be Ready. His subtle marks and color shifts provide an interesting visual discovery.

Todd Ford
CocaCola
30"x36"
This is a new work from Todd. As stated in his artist statement: I paint in a style that is similar to, but not true photorealism. I am much more interested in creating work that is a synthesis of my own vision and sensibilities without the strict confinements of photorealism. I want to show a familiar object in and unfamiliar way, as something that has importance.

Jerry Points
One of the questions that comes up frequently in the gallery is….but how will it look over the fireplace. The answer I provide is take it home and see for yourself. Remember, it can always be painted smaller or larger if you really love the work. And, the thing I want to say many times is…if it doesn't match the couch, buy another couch. This is a recent painting titled, Field of Dreams and yes it is available for your fireplace.

April Willy returns to Eye On Art Gallery with one of her new paintings. Her wonderful use of color and softness in the blended tones help stage the burst of color in the new growth.
