I am so pleased to showcase the exciting works of Nhat Tran during the November Gallery Walk, November 10 and for the full month. Her most recent exhibition was at Yamawaki Gallery, Kyoto Gallery, and Kitakata City Museum of Art. Tran was commissioned by The Indianapolis Airport Authority for a large urushi lacquer mural, On the Tip of Our Wings, completed in September 2008 and inaugurated in October 2008, for the New Indianapolis Airport.

Another abstract work from Greg Huebner.  I like the energy and movement through this work. It reminds me of the movement of the baton, from a conductor would have in reaching the allegro of a symphonic work.

I wanted to display a combination of art pieces that work well with classic design. Here I am showing the sculpture (Mic Mead) and painting (Jerry Points) with the classic Red Eames Lounge Chair.

Artist Statement
I love making pottery. Working with colored stoneware and inlays of porcelain, I create one-of-a-kind, sculpted pottery by combining wheel-throwing techniques, hand-building, and spontaneous mark-making.

Statement by the Artist
My influences were Jan Vermeer and Jean-Baptiste-Simeon Chardin as I admired their attention to simple and modest subjects. My style is realistic, but with a contemporary touch. Light and shadows, the brightness if the floral and the softness of the texture are important elements in my paintings.

Kenneth Baskin

I am pleased to announce the addition of Kenneth Baskin to our distinguished artists at EYE ON ART Gallery. Kenneth is Assistant Professor of Art / Ceramics McNeese State University, Lake Charles, Louisiana.In his ceramic works he explores the integration of actual and abstracted machine parts into homologous interrelationships. Metaphorically, his sculptures reflect aspects of these interrelations through: balance and instability, domination and submission, tension and ease, opposition and compromise. It is through this dynamic of push and pull, give and take, that the spontaneity and structuring of these interactions takes place.
