Sara Zin

As some of you have noticed, I have listed Sara as an artist of Eye On Art. Because of her move from Seattle to New York her creative time for painting has diminished. I wanted to show one of her new works here and will be receiving work from a new series around mid-year. She is a talented and emerging artist from New York and I look forward to representing her work in the Indiana market.

Jerry Points

Oil on Linen
30"x40"

I went through my photographic reference photos I had last year from teaching the workshop in Midland and wanted to return to the visual theme of morning light filtering through the pine trees. I remembered the many branches crossing to create the illusion of a stained glass window. On exhibit now at Eye On Art Gallery

Nathan Falter

A quick gallery pic of the work of Nathan Falter from Springfield Pottery. His work is very urban and graphic with strong design. If you are looking for something unique in pottery, I have 4 all stars showing for the gallery walk, Saturday December 11 in Carmel.

Michael Schmidt

Another creative potter on board with Eye On Art Gallery, Michael Schmidt. Michael is Associate Professor Valdosta State University, Valdosta, GA.

"I am interested in combining “pottery” with an identity that is aesthetically and conceptually complex."

The idea of vessel or containment is a dominant concept in my work. While “trained as a functional potter,” I have experimented with many facets of clay and a wide range of firing techniques, however, I have always felt a certain obligation to the utility of a vessel.

Dutch Lake Pottery

Another great potter added to the Eye On Art Gallery is Jeff Rottman from Dutch Lake Pottery in Michigan. Some of you may have seen his work at Penrod and Broad Ripple Art Fair. His works are well designed and crafted. The works will be available for the Second Saturday Gallery Walk in Carmel December 11, 5-10pm.

Nicholas Bernard

I am pleased to add Arizona potter, Nicholas Bernard to our 3D mix. His works are exciting, classical shapes.
Texture, pattern and color are successful additions when the shapes are impeccable. Bernard's inspirations are many, from the classic forms of antiquity to the simple, graceful pots made by indigenous peoples and the work of modern studio potters. Bernard seeks to create flawless forms that speak of five thousand years of ceramic tradition.

Laurie Wright

I am so pleased to add the dynamic, screen prints from Laurie Wright. Laurie has developed a great sense of design and color in her art. In Laurie's words, "I feel that most colors complement in one way or another so I have been able to leave many of my concerns about color behavior behind. I think in bright and saturated primary colors and I like to combine them with their complements. By hiding elements in the color, I reward the careful and intent viewer for his attention."

Sam Dolman

Shy Sue
Oil
20"x24"

This is the second of three paintings coming from Sam Dolman in the UK. Great response from the first one as one woman thought the nose was in front of the frame. Another addition to the cow wall.
