Yves Letterme

Athur Shcopenhauer
22.25"x11"

Another creative work on paper from Yves Letterme. I selected this because of the unusual format and the calligraphy. I didn't know anything about Arthur Schopenhauer and looked him up to find out he was a German philosopher and a pretty brainy guy. I also enjoyed one of his quotes. " The first forty years of life give us the text; the next thirty supply the commentary to it." We are living loner today, so I plan to extend that commentary a few more years.

Yves Letterme

If You Want to Get Lucky
Image:13.25x13.12

This is one of six new works that just arrived, on paper from Yves Letterme, artist from Belgium. The works will be framed with a 4" matt and black frame. The calligraphy on the painting reads: If You Want to Get Lucky it Pays to be Ready. His subtle marks and color shifts provide an interesting visual discovery.

Todd Ford

CocaCola
30"x36"

This is a new work from Todd. As stated in his artist statement: I paint in a style that is similar to, but not true photorealism. I am much more interested in creating work that is a synthesis of my own vision and sensibilities without the strict confinements of photorealism. I want to show a familiar object in and unfamiliar way, as something that has importance.

Jerry Points

One of the questions that comes up frequently in the gallery is….but how will it look over the fireplace. The answer I provide is take it home and see for yourself. Remember, it can always be painted smaller or larger if you really love the work. And, the thing I want to say many times is…if it doesn't match the couch, buy another couch. This is a recent painting titled, Field of Dreams and yes it is available for your fireplace.

April Willy

Cluster
24"x24"

April Willy returns to Eye On Art Gallery with one of her new paintings. Her wonderful use of color and softness in the blended tones help stage the burst of color in the new growth.

Jeong-Choon

We have changed the look of the gallery, removing the old and large counter that was still here from an earlier tenant. A new printers cabinet from Restoration Hardware is a better match to the other tables and provides much more room for display. The new works by Jeong-Choon look very nice on the back wall.

Martin Price

Martin Price recently had his work selected for the cover of TravelIN. Martin does such a fantastic job with the raku firings along with his classical shapes.

Schedule Your Event in the Gallery

This last weekend the gallery was scheduled for a party of 30 people. They loved the space and the environment of surrounding art works. The gallery proved to be an excellent venue for the small gathering. If you have an upcoming event and want to discuss the details, please contact Susie Rachles or Jerry Points.

May Gallery Walk

Big Opening Night for Ryan Lane at the Eye On Art Gallery as we sold several of his new works. Ryan is in the middle talking to Greg and Mary Huebner. Greg was his teacher at Wabash College. Greg and I were at SIU at the same time completing our MFAs.

Greg Huebner

Untitled #2
Acrylic on Canvas
36"x36"

Another fine work from Indy painter Greg Huebner. Greg does not title his works, bu I want to call it "Salute"  I see the movement of a salute in the calligraphic blue strokes and a dominant red, white and blue. If you buy it, you can call it whatever you want.

Rita Spalding

Oil on Canvas
24"x36

I am showing paintings by Rita Spalding, now at Eye On Art.

Rita's approach to painting is fairly traditional in terms of subject and medium, but hardly pure representational. Her joy in painting is creating quiet, poetic paintings with deep, rich colors, compelling subject matter, and concise elegant compositions.

Ryan Lane

The current paintings by Ryan incorporate many of the same tools and materials used in the furniture making process and give his paintings a very unique texture and depth. The paintings have both spontaneous  and craftsmen like qualities which give his work a undeniable vibrancy.

Artist Statement;
"I am interested in painting horizons or borders and hope to capture the mystery of an approaching event.  Whether the impression is foreboding or optimistic is entirely to be determined by the viewer."
